Open Countsy and tap the + button. Enter a name, date and time, choose a category, pick a background photo or color and your font, and optionally set a reminder. Save it and the countdown appears on your main screen.

Touch and hold an empty area of your home screen, tap the + button in the top corner, search for Countsy, choose a size (small, medium or large) and tap Add Widget. To pick which countdown it shows, touch and hold the widget and choose Edit Widget.

On iOS 16 or later, touch and hold your lock screen, tap Customize, select the lock screen, tap the widget area, search for Countsy and add the widget.

iOS decides how often widgets refresh, so a widget can occasionally lag behind the app. First open Countsy once — this hands the latest data to your widgets. If the widget still looks stuck, remove it from your home or lock screen and add it again. Restarting your iPhone also clears most widget glitches. If a widget shows a countdown you've deleted, edit the widget and choose a different countdown.

With the free version you can create one countdown, customize it, add it as a widget and set reminders; the free version shows ads. Premium unlocks unlimited countdowns, all fonts and font colors, cloud backup & restore, and removes all ads.

Premium is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Some plans may include a free trial for new subscribers; the exact prices and any trial are shown in the app before you buy. Payment is handled by Apple.

Open the Premium screen in the app and tap Restore. Make sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID you used to buy. If Premium still doesn't unlock, email us from Settings inside the app so we receive your user ID, and we'll sort it out.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, so they can't be cancelled from inside the app or by us. On your iPhone go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions, choose Countsy and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period; Premium stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your countdowns are not deleted. Your most recently created countdown stays available, and older ones are locked until you upgrade again.

Cloud backup is a Premium feature. Go to Settings → Backup & Restore, sign in with Apple, and tap the backup button — your countdowns, categories and background photos are saved to the cloud. Backups are made when you tap the button, not automatically, so back up again after making changes.

If you made a cloud backup, install Countsy on the new phone, open Settings → Backup & Restore, sign in with the same Apple ID and tap restore. Without a cloud backup, countdowns live only on the old device and need to be recreated.

Open Settings → Backup & Restore and tap Delete. This removes your backup and its uploaded photos from the cloud. Countdowns on your phone are not affected.

Open the share screen for a countdown. You can share it as a styled image, or send an invite link — when a friend with Countsy opens the link, the same countdown is added to their app. Invite links expire after 7 days.

Check that notifications are allowed for Countsy in Settings → Notifications → Countsy, and that the countdown has a reminder set (on the day, an hour before, a day before, a week before or a month before). Focus modes can also silence notifications.

No account is needed — Countsy works with an anonymous ID and never asks for your name or email. Your countdowns are stored on your device. Data only goes to the cloud when you back up (Premium) or share an invite link. The free version shows ads from Google AdMob, and Countsy asks for your permission before any tracking. Countsy is available in 30 languages. You can change the app language in Settings.
